About this Opportunity

MedFax is an exciting company looking for a talented Quality Control Specialist to help proofread and quality check data gathered by our researchers and developers before the information is distributed. We need someone who is able to quickly and easily spot grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and data inconsistencies to guarantee the integrity of our information.  We are looking for someone who is a dedicated team player, enjoys working on a computer, shows initiative and above all else is extremely meticulous.  Legal background or knowledge of the health care industry is a plus.

 

Responsibilities

  • Reading legal documents and being able to understand them
  • Checking for errors, duplicates, or missing information
  • Proofreading information and correcting it before it is published
  • Creating new and more efficient techniques to increase the quality and speed of data collection, quality control, research, etc.

Qualifications

  • Detail oriented, thorough, careful, organized
  • Excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Ability to proofread, find errors and edit
  • Familiar with using a Mac
  • Understands basic computer programs (email, file sharing, web browsers) and basic computer terminology
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Competent at performing internet searches
  • Type 40-50 WPM
  • Remains accurate under pressure and can meet deadlines
  • Fast learner with a large vocabulary and good command of the English language
  • Works well with others
  • Strong communication skills
  • Multi-tasker
  • Ethical, reliable, stable, professional
  • Not afraid to question existing procedures and find out why they “are that way”
  • Seeks to understand and improve operations and functions

Education requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma required
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in English is preferred, but not required
